Privacy Policy
Catalyst recognizes the importance of protecting the information that we collect from visitors to our site. We do not rent, sell, trade or share this information with anyone. It is our policy to use the information we acquire through the registration process for internal business uses only, and we maintain appropriate security measures to keep this information private.
Registration
When you download or install a new product, we may ask you to register your purchase electronically. If you choose not to register or provide personal information, you can still use most of the site. Some areas may be restricted to those users who have registered with us. If you decide to register, you will be able to select the kinds of information you want to receive from us, including subscriptions to newsletters, events and product update notices. You may chose to remove your contact information from our database at any time.
Public Forums
Catalyst maintains public forums for the purpose of technical support and discussion. To post a message to one of the forums, it may be required that you register with us and provide contact information such as your name and an e-mail address. Catalyst Development will not release this information to any third party except as required by law. As part of the registration process, you can choose to display certain information to the public, such as your e-mail address and website. If you choose to do so, Catalyst cannot take any responsibility for collection of this information by a third party. It is not required that you register with us or provide an e-mail address to read messages posted to the public forums.
Mailing Lists
Catalyst maintains several public mailing lists for the purpose of technical support and discussion. Each mailing list requires that the user request a subscription to that list, and then confirm the subscription by replying to a confirmation e-mail sent to the subscriber's address. Mailing lists may be designated as read-only, moderated or unmoderated. A read-only list permits list members to read list messages, but they cannot send messages to the list themselves. This type of list is typically used with product announcements and newsletters. Moderated lists allow members to post messages to the list, however each message must be accepted by the moderator for that list before it is sent to the other list members. Unmoderated lists allow members to post messages to the list, and those messages are sent directly to the other members of that list. In all cases, a user must be a member of a given list in order to send a message to that list. The current list membership is not available to the public, and cannot be viewed by anyone other than the list administrator. You may unsubscribe from any of our mailing lists at any time.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file stored on your local hard drive that is used to exchange information, like an identity card, with a website. This file cannot be executed as code, or contain viruses. Typically websites use cookies to identify a user so that it can customize itself to a set of pre-selected preferences.
Our website uses cookies for the purpose of identifying you uniquely. When you use our forms, we will store a cookie on your computer. The cookie contains your user identification number, name, address and contact information. This allows us to fill in your information automatically during future visits to our site. Catalyst never stores your credit card information, or other sensitive data. The information we do store is never shared, and is used solely with the download, order and support forms. If your browser is not set up to accept cookies, you will still be able to use our web site. However, you will have to fill in your information manually upon subsequent visits.
Linked Sites
You should be aware that personal information such as your name, e-mail address or credit card information that you voluntarily disclose on other Internet sites that we might link to could be collected and disclosed by others. Catalyst cannot take any responsibility for such collection or disclosure by sites we link to. Should you have any concerns, you should read the privacy statements of those sites before disclosing any personal information.
